Grade sheet reading card
Not something Kora sells: a tool for reading other suppliers' sheets. Each row names a term, what it can tell you and the question that turns a number into evidence.

| Hardness (ball-pan) | Share of grains that survives abrasion; matters where grains rub against each other | % | ASTM D3802 | Research: supplier listings, 20 Oct 2026 |

| Moisture | Water in the bag at packing, so it is part of what you pay for by weight | % | ASTM D2867 | Research: supplier listings, 20 Oct 2026 |
| Butane activity | Uptake of butane vapour; used for gas-phase grades | % | ASTM D5742 | Research: supplier listings, 20 Oct 2026 |

Under research, not yet verified · Method numbers are the ones that appear in supplier listings and search summaries. We did not buy the standards. Check the current edition and what it exactly measures before you quote it in a contract.
How to use the card
- Put your target grade sheet next to the card and mark every number that comes without a method.
- Ask for the method number and edition behind each marked number.
- Ask whether the figure is a limit, a typical value or a measured result for the lot you will receive.
- Treat a sheet with limits only as a starting point for a conversation, not as a result.
What the card does not do
It does not rank suppliers and does not tell you which numbers your application needs. Gold recovery, water treatment and gas cleaning ask for different things. Your own process engineer or the standard for your use decides that.
Send us the sheet you are reading
If the sheet you are stuck on is for activated carbon, send it with your inquiry and say which term is unclear. We will explain what we can and say plainly when a question is outside what Kora supplies, which is charcoal.
Questions buyers ask
Which test methods go with hardness and ash on an activated carbon sheet?
The card lists ASTM D3802 for ball-pan hardness and ASTM D2866 for ash. These numbers come from supplier listings and search summaries, and the standards were not bought, so check the current edition and what each measures before you quote one in a contract.
How do I use the reading card on a grade sheet I just received?
Put the sheet beside the card and mark every number that arrives without a method. Ask for the method number and edition behind each mark. Also ask whether each figure is a limit, a typical value or a measured result for the lot you will receive.
Will the reading card tell me which grade-sheet numbers my application needs?
No. The card does not rank suppliers or set targets. Gold recovery, water treatment and gas cleaning ask for different things, so your process engineer or the standard for your use decides. You can send a confusing sheet with your inquiry and name the term you cannot place.
